Benvenutos- Boynton Beach, FL

Two words that definitely illustrate a white wedding are classic and elegant. At Benvenutos J Morgan Flowers of Pompano
Beach did just that! We beautifully decorated the courtyard with six centerpieces that stood on vintage silver stands.
The centerpieces consist of white hydrangeas with white luscious roses shaped like a dome. They were placed down the aisle
along with white petals to add grace to the ceremony. The bride and groom stood under a gazebo draped in sheer white fabric.
The wind was a bit strong that day. To match the centerpieces that lined the aisle, white hydrangeas and roses were placed in the center of the gazebo and the sleeves. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and below you will see just how beautiful it all turned out!

At the reception, we created two types of centerpieces. First, was the dome shaped hydrangeas with white roses that exactly
matched the ceremony, and the second was a cluster of three various vases. Each had pebbles at the base, immersed white orchids and floating candles adding ambiance to the arrangement and the room.

To create a warm and welcoming tone to arriving guests, amber up lighting outlined the perimeter of the room.

Carrying a lovely bouquet of white roses accented with both spray roses and orchids, the bride looked absolutely goregous!
Congratulations Kelisha and Aaron! We wish you all the best!

Rusty Pelican-Key Biscayne, Miami

It’s officially summertime!  And here, at J Morgan Flowers Pompano Beach, we are eager to show you all the upcoming arrangements we are creating for this summer’s weddings. This past weekend, we were at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne setting up a wedding reception. The room was beautiful! The back wall was all windows looking over the bay and south beach. What made the room more beautiful was our lovely centerpieces filled with purple hydrangeas, purple spider mums, purple stocks, purple cremons, and pink alstroemeria on top of a cylinder vase with sunken orchids and clear pebbles. The bride carried an exquisite bouquet of purple carnations, spider mums, orchids, and white cymbidiums. Look at the photos below and see how gorgeous everything turned out and let me know what you think!

Norton Museum of Art – West Palm Beach, Florida

Let me set the scene. Wedding ceremony, at the Norton Museum of Art of West Palm Beach Florida, created using 2 curly willows entwined with kiwi vines, dripping with electric candles, phalanopsis orchids and Italian rucsus. At the reception, hand-picked citrus as the table’s décor and granola as favors for all of the guests.
We, at J Morgan Flowers of Pompano Beach, were absolutely thrilled when Patty and Francois chose us to do their flowers. They are both biologists so it was important that their wedding be planned with the utmost care and respect for mother-nature.
The bride insisted that everything be environmentally friendly so we used organic, locally grown oranges and lemons with kiwi vines, from their family’s home. The Italian ruscus and phalanopsis orchids were also locally grown and picked. We are also Eco wedding friendly here at J Morgan Flowers. We use bio diesel in our 24 foot, refrigerated truck and encourage our brides to use locally grown flowers!

Here Comes the bride; flowers all in white!!

Who was up at 4 am to the the Royal Wedding?! *Raises hands and jumps up and down* I was!! Finally, we saw the flowers! But, first I must address how absolutely breath-taking everything else was. Kate’s dress was so chic- my favorite part of it had to be the lace sleeves. Although, being here in sunny Pompano Beach of South Florida, I couldn’t help but think if she was super hot. Well, like I’ve heard many a time, ‘there is no comfort in being beautiful or fabulous!’
Shane Connely was the “chosen one” for this grand event! He has worked several events for Prince Charles. He worked on Camilla’s flowers and bouquet in 2005 when she married the Prince of Wales. Connelly was responsible for Kate’s bouquet and the beautiful maple trees inside the chapel.
The bouquet was small, subtle and seasonal. Shield-shaped and made almost entirely from lily-of-the-valley, sweet William, myrtle and hyacinth. All of the flowers were either grown by UK growers or cut from the royal estate. Stems of myrtle come directly from the Osburne house, Isle of Wight, by Queen Victoria in 1845, and a sprig from a plant grown from the myrtle used in The Queen’s wedding bouquet of 1947. This, for sure, has delighted all of us here at J Morgan Flowers! Especially our own Brit Jacqueline!
The flowers were chosen by Kate with reference to the “language of flowers”, a floral code made popular by Queen Victoria.
Below we have a made a list of each flower and their meanings. Take a look and let us know what you think!

Lily-of-the-valley: Return of happiness.
Sweet William: Gallantry.
Hyacinth: Constancy of love.
Ivy: Fidelity; marriage; wedded love; friendship; affection.
Myrtle: the emblem of marriage; love.

PGA National – Justine and Ryan

Justine and Ryan were married at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens Florida. They are a beautiful and elegant couple. The love between them gives off such a glow and you can really tell that there is such a spark between the two of them!
Justine and her bridesmaids carried ivory roses with splashes of green hydrangeas, berries, green cymbidium orchids and yoko onos. The centerpieces were a leaf lined cube vase topped with a large dome of ivory hydrangeas, green dendrobrium orchids, ivory roses and loops of bear grass.

The Hillsboro Beach Club, Hillsboro Florida

J Morgan Flowers of Pompano Beach designed the flowers for Samantha and Justin’s beach themed wedding last weekend at the Hillsboro Club in Hillsboro, Florida. The Hillsboro club is a beautiful venue with a gorgeous view of the water which all of the guests had in plain sight during the ceremony and the reception! It was a sunny day with little to no wind just a perfect waterfront breeze. The ceremony was refreshing and elegant and included a beautiful white chuppah which is tradition to have at a Jewish wedding.
Just a bit of history for you all, in ancient times, chuppa signified the bridal chamber, but the canopy now symbolizes the home to be established by the newlyweds! How exciting!
Now back to more details of the wedding! The chuppah was white and dressed with cascading starfish, raffia, hydrangeas and ivory roses! Samantha was all about the details on her big day so the table under the chuppah was designed with starfish!

Each couple was escorted to their table with a starfish place card! I just loved this idea! Super adorable!

Samantha was a beautiful bride and an absolute joy to work with. From what I know, she planned her own wedding from start to finish! She mentioned that she received “great advice from Jack regarding other vendors and planning” and that Jacqueline Goldman of J Morgan Flowers was “recommended by the Hillsboro Club. She “instantly clicked with Jack and thought she was very nice.”
Jacqueline added an extra surprise to Samantha’s bouquet. Starfish! Samantha was thrilled with the thoughtful and unique touch!

Just for fun, we decided to share a few facts about our bride and groom. They met on Match.com and dated for 3 years before Justin proposed!
It is actually quite funny how Samantha received her ring. Justin and Samantha went to look at rings one day and Samantha found a favorite! The next day Justin and his mom went to buy the ring and he was scheduled to pick it up a week later! Well it just so happens that the diamond chipped and needed to be looked at and approved, so Justin sent Samantha, thinking they would only show the diamond. He was wrong! The jeweler showed Samantha not only the diamond, but the diamond in its setting. She went home that night and Justin proposed. Although she saw the ring before the proposal, it didn’t take away any of the love and joy that she felt when she was asked!
Another fun fact, Samantha and Justin found their Rabbi in the phonebook. How funny!
They specifically asked him to not sing during the ceremony! But guess what? He sang the entire time!

We wish Samantha and Justin the best of luck and are so thankful to have been a part of your big day! XoXo

English Royal Wedding

Soon the beautiful Kate Middleton, native to England just like our very own Jacqueline Goldman of J. Morgan flowers, will be wed off to a dashing young man, Prince William. She will soon become UK’s shining princess and all of us here at J. Morgan Flowers are wondering what kind of flowers will be at this grand event on April 29!

It is not yet public which florist will have the honor of floral design but we do believe that it will be someone who is tried and true. Someone who has worked for The Firm before and will, without a doubt, have insight into wedding etiquette and demands. Jane Packer, a celebrity florist who Jacqueline worked for during her time in London and New York, suggests sophisticated arums and scented gardenias. Gardenias have a waxy quality which allows them to last throughout the day. Although, that may not be necessary since several bouquets will be made up by way of contingency planning!

We are thinking the bouquets will be simple and not overly done with a touch of romanticism. That seems to be trending for brides now-a-days. They may be pearl or vanilla in color since Queen Victoria had snowdrops, the late Queen Mother a bouquet of lily-of-the-valley and the Queen carried a bouquet of home grown orchids.

William and Kate have decided they want the wedding to be a celebration of Britain, so they will be using native flowers. There’s word that Fairtrade white roses form Kenya will be included to celebrate the country in which the groom proposed to his bride-to-be. It is also said that instead of cut flowers at the Westminster Abbey, there might be living fruit trees and wisteria, grown in pots. Staying true to a true English wedding and after wards they’ll be able to plant everything and start an orchid, creating a long lasting memory!

Here’s a picture of an English wedding theme we did recently here in South Florida at the Mizner country club in Delray Beach Florida.

Crazy for Cherries

A Cherry Blossom is the flower of the Cherry Trees known as Sakura. These flowers originate from East Asian states such as Japan, Korea and China. They are in full bloom during the months of spring, especially March and April. So how appropriate that we have Cherry Blossoms in the shop being prepared for weddings this weekend as I speak… Or shall I say write ;-)
Take a look below at one of our beautiful Cherry Blossoms!

Cherry Blossoms usually take about 5 days to open up and it’s best to keep them in warm water.
